If Not
Written by Mrs. Joan H.
Daniel 3 tells of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, making an image of gold and commanding all the people to fall down and worship it. Whoever did not fall down and worship it would be cast into a furnace of blazing fire. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused. They said that their God Whom they served was able to deliver them ...BUT IF NOT they will not serve or worship these gods.
In Daniel 6, Daniel distinguished himself and King Darius planned to appoint him over the entire kingdom. The commissioners and satraps were jealous and tried to find some accusation against him. They could not, so knew they must find an accusation regard the law of his God. They persuaded the king to build a statue and command that no one should make a petition to any other god or man for 30 days or they would be cast into the lions' den. Yet Daniel openly prayed toward Jerusalem on his knees three times a day. He knew God was able to deliver him BUT IF NOT...
Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane is recorded in Matthew 26:39, "If it be possible let this cup pass from me, BUT IF NOT...
What are the IF NOTS in your life? I need a husband to go to the mission field, BUT IF NOT, am I willing to go alone? I desire good health, BUT IF NOT am I willing to be sickly all my life? I would like a good job BUT IF NOT am I willing to live by faith and trust God to provide my needs? I want a godly husband and children, BUT IF NOT will I be content and accept His will?
Trust His Heart
Author unknown
"All things work for good, though sometmes we can't see how they could.
Struggles that break our heart in two, sometimes blind us to the truth.
Our Father knows what’s best for us, His ways are not our own.
So when your pathway grows dim and you can't see Him -
Remember He's still on the throne.
God is too wise to be mistaken; God is too good to be unkind.
So when you don't understand; when you don't see His plan;
When you can't trace His hand; TRUST HIS HEART!
He sees the master plan, He holds the future in His hand.
We see the present clearly; He sees the first and the last.
And like a tapestry, He's shaping you and me to someday be just like Him."
