You Are Not Your Own
Written By Katie C.
Some people tend to think that after you become a Christian, you can do whatever you want, as long as you still believe that Jesus saved you. But how can that be? "Our walk talks and our talk talks," goes the saying. "Our walk talks" -- meaning that our way of living is very important, if not indispensable to how people see us, and also how they see God. It is very important to live and to submit totally to God, in body and in spirit, for His use, not our own. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN”(1 Corinthians 6:19). We must dress as we would appear before God, we must eat to please God, we must act in a way to please God, for He can see every little thing that each of us do every second of our lives. We belong to Him, we therefore must “do all to the glory of God”(1 Corinthians 10:31). Our daily lives are just another way of praising our great God. Are you praising Him with your actions each day? “Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, CONDUCT, love, faith and purity, SHOW YOURSELF AN EXAMPLE OF THOSE WHO BELIEVE”(1 Timothy 4:12).
